Change quickly and don't leave valuables in the
changing rooms. If you come already wearing your kit (or leave in
your kit) please have it FULLY COVERED

Make sure some kind of footwear is worn at ALL
TIMES off the mat. This keeps the feet clean and also the mat area.
Do not step on the mat wearing shoes

Always have clean, trimmed toe and fingernails.
This stops unnecessary scratches when fighting

Jewellery, body piercings, watches and metal hair clips (including
bobbles with metal bits) are not allowed on the mat at any time.
Glasses may be left on the ledge around the mat or on the table

Clean kits without rips are essential. Also make
sure that the club badge is sewn onto the jacket

Bow when coming on and when leaving the mat

Ask the coach before leaving the mat for any reason
during a session so that we know where you are at all times

Do not eat or drink
on the mat (drinks may be taken during sessions at the edge of
the mat)

Do not talk when lined
up in grade order, it shows disrespect towards the coach

Please keep the noise level down when off the
mat

Do not talk unnecessarily
whist practising, it is unsafe if the coach cannot hear and be
heard. Quiet talking is
ok if you are helping your partner with a technique

Always show respect for your opponents
